The Wayward E-mail
The Wayward E-Mail
Sitting at my computer with my early morning cup of tea in hand, I opened my inbox to find a message from someone I have never met with Thanks in the subject line. Without thinking about spam, or viruses I opened it to a beautiful message for someone called Theresa from Christina. The message stated beautifully the writer’s joy at meeting “me” yesterday at camp, of course it wasn’t me she was calling a rose in a beautiful bouquet of roses, it was another Theresa.
Again with only a slight hesitation I clicked on her link; finding someone with deep spiritual beliefs, who was honest in her faith, someone open to all types of spirituality, with a love of learning and if I read between the lines correctly a love of life and a deep caring for others. When I investigated further, clicking on the contact box, I found that Christina and I live in the same community, she in the country and me in the city.
I decided to answer the e-mail to let her know that I was not in fact the person was wished to thank. It seemed a shame that Theresa did not get her message when it was so heartfelt and loving. Christina again replied, apologizing for the error. I answered no apology necessary I enjoyed Christina’s webpage and have signed up for her monthly newsletter. I questioned; is there another woman out there with the same first and last names as me? Another reply; no there isn’t but the initials are the same. She shared the link to the other woman’s webpage and I read an incredible story of life, love, dedication and determination. The story is so beautifully written that it brought me to tears.
How Christina came up with my e-mail address is still a mystery and it doesn’t matter. If I hadn’t opened the first e-mail, I would not have read these 2 incredible stories. There are times taking a leap of faith, such as not hitting the delete button just because we don’t know the sender, brings abundance into our lives in ways we cannot perceive. Hopefully I will meet these women in person one day, have a conversation with them, learning more about and from them. If I don’t then it wasn’t meant to be, I still have read their stories.
I truly believe that things happen for a reason, I was meant to open that first e-mail. The reason may not be apparent right away but there is one. I will wait, be patient and when the time is right we will meet or not. All will become clear in good time.
